Urban World Review

Write for us

Urban World Review welcomes pitches that help general readers understand how cities are designed, built, used and remembered. Proposals should make a precise point and show why a reader might notice it in a real place.

What to pitch

We consider explanatory features, comparisons, object or street-level histories, design questions and practical ways to read urban spaces. A strong idea is focused enough to answer one main question, but broad enough to interest readers beyond a single project or neighbourhood. We are not looking for promotional copy or unsupported claims.

What to include

Send a short summary of the proposed article, its central idea, the category it might fit and a note on the sources or material you would use. Explain what is distinctive about the angle and how you would make it clear to readers without specialist knowledge. Do not send a complete draft unless it has been requested.

How to send it

Submit proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include your name and a way to reply in the form. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication, and we may ask for clarification before making a decision.
